'Bug' Stol

Bug is a small ‘chairstool’ with a large comfy support that hugs the back. It’s inspired by the Black Rhino beetle after a trip abroad, where the beetle is kept as a pet. It was obvious that the beetle was well suited as inspiration for a domestic product. The shape and over dimensioned bodily proportions of the beetle gave the foundations for the aesthetics of this object. The large backrest size is the horn in relation to the beetle. The framework is bent mild steel, one version is ebony stained solid softwood and the other has wool upholstery on backrest/seat.
